Rob Robinson
Host of College Football Roundtable

An honest-to-God Tropical Ranger, Rob Robinson was born and raised in Georgia and has spent much of his life surrounded by Army Football, military service, and the enduring tradition of BEAT NAVY!
Rob graduated with the Class of 1997, played 150s Football (now Sprint Football) all four years at the Academy, and covered Army athletics from the WKDT press box. From the fields of friendly strife to the broadcasting booth, he developed a passion for the strategy, traditions, rivalries, and personalities that make college football special.
Following West Point, Rob served 23 years as a U.S. Army officer, including deployments supporting Operations Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom. His military career and operational planning experience shaped his analytical approach to football, from examining coaching decisions and game strategy to exploring the leadership and team dynamics that separate good programs from great ones.
Whether he’s breaking down the Black Knights’ offense, debating the College Football Playoff, exploring the effects of NIL and the transfer portal, or revisiting another unforgettable Army–Navy rivalry, Rob believes college football deserves informed analysis, spirited debate, and a healthy dose of humor.
Beyond AFF, Rob hosts Philosophy From the Front Line, a podcast exploring military service, veteran transition, leadership, innovation, and the human stories behind those experiences.

Just a guy being a dude and writing mostly about college football and occasionally other things. Writing helped me through my first heartbreak and my other interests are playing R&B songs on the keyboard, ballroom dance, and most importantly Jesus 🙂

Michael K. Heit
Photographer & Interviewer Extraordinaire

I was born and raised in the Bronx, New York, where I met my high school sweetheart, Rosa, at John F. Kennedy High School. We eventually married and moved to the Hudson Valley, where we raised our two children, Ethan and Samantha.
My introduction to Army Football came while serving as an MP in the Army Reserve during the mid-1990s. I was assigned to traffic duty at West Point for a game against Temple and ended up working on the visiting sideline. One of Temple’s players, Mike Kelly, had attended my high school. That was my first Army Football game, and I was hooked.
I later joined the NYPD and was attending the Police Academy on September 11, 2001. That tragic day became my first experience on patrol. I retired in 2021 after 20 years with the department.
Photography had been an interest since high school, when I learned to develop black-and-white prints in a darkroom. After years focused on work and family, I picked up a camera again. Following retirement, photography became my second career.
Today, I’m a full-time sports photographer covering high school and Division I athletics. Photography eventually brought me back to West Point, where I’ve covered football, rugby, softball, gymnastics and other Army sports. I’m excited to now be part of the As For Football team.
Outside AFF, I own PB Prestige Sports Photography and contribute photography and video coverage to Mid-Hudson News Sports. When I’m not behind the camera, I enjoy hiking, movies, time with my family and our dog Loki, and suffering through being a lifelong Mets and Jets fan.
